The Unlikely Object Getting Laughs

A camera, yes a camera.

Recently, I have been on a mission to finish up and develop the five disposable cameras I have had lying around my apartment for…
well, I have no idea. Once they finally get developed, part of the fun will be finding out just how long I have had these cameras and what was captured on them.

The first time I recently busted one of my disposable cameras was at an outdoor bar on top of an old school in Philly. The building is no longer in use as a school but has been taken over by artisans, a serious restaurant, and a rooftop bar with a killer view. I arrived to see two of my friends already there. They are more than game to be the subjects of a photo. When the last friend arrived, I asked one of the first friends to take a picture of the two of us.

The look on the last friend’s face when I pulled out a disposable camera and handed it over to my friends to take a photo of us was priceless. She just shook her head and was like, “Why? Why?” I thought it was hysterical, and the other friends did as well.

The next time I pulled out a disposable camera was yesterday with a friend and her child. She couldn’t stop laughing. Now, she knows me well, so the fact that I am on this quest to have my disposable cameras actually used and developed does not surprise her in the slightest.

But she still thought it was hysterical. She kept telling her kid that he would never see another one of these again in his lifetime.
