Part 3

Okay folks, we are already up to the countries beginning with I. Let’s keep it going…

81. India: Neeraj Chopra (Athletics). This Javelin thrower is the reigning champion in this event, the first athlete to win a medal for India in track and field AND a junior commissioned officer in the Indian army.

82. Indonesia: Anthony Sinisuka Ginting (Badminton). He learned badminton in Kindergarten from his father. I learned basketball from mine in third grade.

83. Iran: Rahman Amouzad (Wrestling). One of his nicknames is Rahman Merciless. The other, according to Wikipedia, is Black Panther Mazandaran. Both equally fear inspiring.

84. Iraq: Aymen Hussein (Football). He grew up in a village located in an ISIS controlled area. His father was killed in Al-Queda attack and his brother was kidnapped by ISIS and the whereabouts are still unknown.

85. Ireland: Fionnuala McCormack (Athletics). Fionnuala will be running the marathon.

86. Israel: Artem Dolgopyat (Gymnastics). Born in Ukraine, he immigrated with his family to Israel when he was 12.

87. Italy: Marcell Jacobs (Athletics). He is running the 100 meters and featured in the Netflix series “Sprint.”

88. Ivory Coast: Jérémy Keryhuel (Fencing). He will be competing in foil.

89. Jamaica: Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (Athletics). Absolute track LEGEND, she is also a UNICEF National Goodwill…
