Plans Post Covid

At this point, I am starting to get cautiously optimistic that there is a light at the end of the Covid-19 tunnel. I know we still have a long ways to go but I’m hopeful, with each vaccination of friends and family that I hear about, that we might be nearing the home stretch. And man, I am ready.
Like many of my five readers, I have started to think about what I would like to do post-Covid and the first two that popped to mine are dancing and karaoke. Naturally, because I’m pretty sure that is what everyone is looking forward to after this pandemic.
Let’s talk about the first one: dancing. I’m not talking like formal ballroom dancing. I’m talking like go to a bar, have a few drinks and spend hours dancing with your friends. Preferably to a mix including disco, 80’s pop, and 90’s boy bands. I have missed this. I miss waking up and finding 84 new photos on your camera because your friends wanted to overly document the night (true story). I miss everyone in a bar getting excited because “Bye Bye Bye” has come on and they memorized the dance moves twenty years ago and though they may not remember what they had for lunch, they still remember all of the moves. I have even missed cover bands. I’m not alone in this. I have spoken with a large sample size (a couple of my best girlfriends) and they have missed this as well. So that is one of the things on my list.
