Hope everyone has a moo-velous day

Happy National Milk Day, everyone! Like many of you, I grew up drinking milk. We could choose white, chocolate, or fruit juice in school. Except for one month in 1993, I decided to drink chocolate milk every day for every month. In the Nineties, milk was such a big thing that there was an ad campaign featuring celebrities with milk mustaches and asking, “Got Milk?” Milk was a big deal.

But as I got older, I will admit I have lapsed in my milk intake. But in honor of national milk day, I have thought of a couple of ways to get milk back into my life.

  1. Drink it. Okay, this is obvious but make it fun — white milk, chocolate milk, strawberry milk. You get the idea.
  2. Hot chocolate.
  3. If you are over 21 (in the U.S.), you can add Baileys or St. Brendan’s.
  4. Eat milk chocolate. As a child, my parents introduced me to stock by buying us two different stocks in whatever company we wanted. I chose two of the most important companies in my life: Claire’s and Hershey’s.
  5. In the same vein, make s’mores. Messy, yes. Hit the spot when you have them, also, yes.
  6. Learn about dairy farming.

You didn’t think I would pass up an opportunity to milk this topic for what it’s worth, did you?

7. Make chocolate chip cookies. Eat said chocolate chip cookies with a tall glass of cold milk.
