How to Visit a Flower Show Properly
2 min readMar 5, 2024
The Philly Flower Show is in town!
- Go with people you love. There’s something incredible about sharing an experience with people you love.
- Get a drink. Don’t get a drink. Just enjoy yourselves however you see fit. I got a sparkling rosé, which greatly complemented the experience.
- Take time to smell the flowers. Literally.
- Learn something about the flowers. For example, I learned that hyacinths smell really lovely.
- Take pictures even though you know you can’t quite capture the experience.
- See the bonsai trees and admire how old they are.
- Take a moment to point out something that captures your eye. My dad pointed out how the light was coming through a display, which was really neat. If he hadn’t pointed it out, I don’t know if I would have noticed it.
- Have fun trying out all the samples from the various booths they have in the marketplace. We now have two pounds of fudge we didn’t have before, and I think we are all the better for it.
- Go out to eat after the show. You can sit back and share the parts you remember.
- Look forward to going again the following year.
Thank you Philly Flower Show for a lovely evening, I look forward to doing it all again next year.
