Best Songs to Listen to While Cleaning the Shower
Hint: Whitney Houston songs are never a bad choice
Today I tackled the dreaded task of cleaning my shower. No one really enjoys this job. It involves bleach and scrubbing and tiny little cracks in the shower tiles that somehow are a magnet for any kind of shower mildew that might come their way. It’s like “heyyy guys! Over here! I’ll provide a nice home for you!” You know something is a good time when I’m giving human like characteristics to mildew.
To ameliorate this task, I decided to put on my Spotify and these are the songs I have come up with as the best for scrubbing showers.
- “It’s Raining Men” — originally sang by the Weather Girls, it is upbeat, fun and easy to groove along to.
- Whitney Houston — really, anything, but in today’s case it was “I Will Always Love You.” You know you are going to sing when Whitney comes on, it is physiologically impossible not to. Why not sing a belt out song in the shower where the acoustics amplify your voice? While this may not be preferable for any neighbors or roommates you may have, it makes it helluva lot of fun for you.
- “Dancin Queen” — Abba. If I was the type to grab a shampoo bottle and sing into it, it would be this song. Plus disco dance moves are easy and accessible to everyone, as opposed to the high-waisted bell bottoms and platform shoes that were worn doing that time.
- “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” — Marvin Gaye. Frankly any Motown song works…
